Get official updates about the situation at Trent during the COVID-19 outbreak here.
As you likely know, convocation ceremonies for 2020 have been postponed.
This is what Trent is saying about convocation:
“As the latest guidance from public health officials suggests that the need for physical distancing to limit or slow the spread of COVID 19 will last for some time, Trent University has decided that Convocation ceremonies will not take place as scheduled this June in Peterborough and Durham. The University will work with members of the graduating class to look for ways to celebrate their graduation.”
Since the Trent Yearbook is usually handed out at the same time as diplomas, this means there will be no way to distribute yearbooks this spring.
As a result, we have delayed the final printing of the 2019-2020 Yearbook until further notice.
If in person classes resume in the fall, we will have the books printed and prepare to distribute them to anyone who can pickup in person at a designated location. If events are happening, we will have a booth at Head of the Trent for yearbook pickup.
If we are still living through a stay at home order or Trent isn’t open for whatever reason, we will likely still have the books printed in the fall and consider ways to get your books to you.
Unfortunately, a mailout is financially not possible. The books are too heavy and expensive to ship to individuals.
We will keep you posted later in the summer, when arrangements for classes next year and for convocation are more clear.
Stay well and check back in August for information regarding distribution of the 2019-2020 Yearbook.
From the Trent COVID-19 page:
“With the health and safety of our campus community and academic success of our students as our top priorities, we continue to monitor the evolving COVID19 situation and plan for a number of scenarios for the format of classes, research and other University operations. Whether these will be in person, a mix of formats, or online, we will deliver the high calibre of education for which Trent is known. As Trent adjusts to our “new reality” (for now), we are working with colleagues across our campuses, the province and the country, on planning and next steps.”
